A Charmed Heart is at a Crossroads!

We’ve sold our last charms. We’ve been blessed these past two years to sell our charms in our son George’s memory, with 100% of the net proceeds going to Rady Children’s Hospital Heart Institute. Before George passed away on November 8, 2019 he had tried to get a support group for both teenagers and young adults born with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD’s) who were patients at Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego(RCHSD). RCHSD sees patients into their 20’s. Sadly George ran out of time. My husband and I wanted to finish this for him. And we have because of all of you. Between your purchases of the charms and your generous cash donations close to $50,000 has already been donated to RCHSD. The hospital has started a fund in George’s Memory and so far teenagers with CHD’s have met for fellowship and fun outings. Thirty teens, ages 13-17 went to Dave and Busters and bonded immediately. They’ve also made pizzas together at California Pizza Kitchen! And they have events planned throughout the rest of this year. We don’t know what it’s like to live with the diagnosis that they have been given. This is a lifelong condition with no cure. There is a higher percentage in these patients of PTSD, anxiety and depression. MENTAL HEALTH IS HEALTH. And if they can have support and not feel alone we’ve helped them to lead a happier life. It matters. We will still have our Miracle Maker Page open for donations that go straight to the hospital and a Charmed Heart Fund. And moving forward we will be hosting events to raise money and awareness. But for now, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are so touched by your kindness and support.
